Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 each year.
The Earth Day 2021 theme is Restore Our Earth and features five primary programs: The Canopy Project, Food and Environment, Climate Literacy, the Global Earth Challenge, and The Great Global CleanUp.
The feature image is a piece of music that speaks to this day from Anna Gleeson and Helen Lawrie. It was a piece that I used with young students doing school retreats at the Christian Brother's Amberley retreat Centre in Templestowe, Melbourne in the late 1980s.
The song comes from a rich tradition of music and community action in Adelaide now known as the Romero Community. I first knew the music as part of what was the Rock Mass at St Francis Cathedral in Adelaide. You can read the remarkable history of this community here.
