Prison Sunday 12 November 2023

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference invites our faith community to acknowledge Prison Sunday on November 12th this year.

I originally composed this post in 2018 when the Bishops invited us to  focus on Youth Justice.  Five years later on 24 August 20923 the Queensland Governemnt  passed an "urgent ammedment" to the  Youth Justice Act 1992  

Prison Sunday invites our community to join the voices of youth justice advocates anxious about this piece of legislation. As well as prayer and reflectioin I invite you to  use the resources below to express your concern. You might choose to  contact the The Hon Di Farmer, Minister for Youth Justice and The Hon Mark Ryan, Minister For Police and Corrective Services as well as your local member.
