Release The Children on Australia Day 2015



On January 26th for the last 3 years, high school students from all around Australia have been joining us in raising awareness for children in detention. The perception that the public have of children in detention is that they're being freed when, in fact, there still being held in immigration detention. This year, we want to let everyone know that they're still not free. 

Australian YCS is a movement run by, for and with high school students. On Australia Day, we continue to remember the kids our age locked up in immigration detention. 

We are asking you to stand with us in taking action. Invite your friends, help us get the message across. We believe in a better Australia. 

To join us in taking action, all you have to do is follow these easy steps:

1. Grab a marker
2. Write the hashtags #cantyouseetheyrestillnotfree and #breakfree
This is a chance for you you to get creative. Write on your skin, or on a sign and make some funky photos
3. Take a photo with the hashtags clearly visible
4. Post the photos on the Australian YCS Facebook page with the caption:

#cantyouseetheyrestillnotfree
#AYCS
5. Share and like yours and other people's photos!
